Nutrition/Snacks

General Information:

Please feel free to use your imagination! The children do need a little snack mid-morning, but if it is too sugary or large, it presents a problem for the remaining portion of the morning and at your lunch time. Also we would like to request that you do not bring peanuts, other types of nuts or peanut butter as a snack. (There are many children who are allergic to nuts.) Snack is just voluntary so please do not feel obligated to bring something; however, if you choose to do so, we would greatly appreciate it.

If your child would like to celebrate his/her birthday in class, you may wish to provide a special snack for that day. A signup sheet is located on the bulletin outside of the classroom.

Beverages:

  • Milk- the children usually love it!
  • Juice- apple, white grape, etc.

ABEKA curriculum is used for Phonics and Math. This is a tenative schedule for each day. In the beginning of the school term the times are adjusted according to the children's attention spans and ages. As the year progresses, less time is spent in pre-session activities and social interaction, and more time is dedicated to working with circle time or in small groups involved in academic pursuits. This schedule is for both classes, but the time allotments are adjusted differently for each class and change as the children grow and mature.
